My dear blog readers, I must say taking on this blog has run me up and down the gamete of feelings, from excitement to be used by the Lord, to resentment at so little response. I really don't know what I was expecting, but for the most part I know God will use my weakness for His strength and I push onward. If any man has had many spiritual lows and highs it is me.From the place of worldly sin, for many years in my Christin experience I found myself lowered; Only to reach a place where the God of my salvation lifted me up to new heights of glory. Its as if these places of deep despair where His handy work in the result I so enjoy today, found and held firmly in the Spirit of the living God, The new man , my new nature. The Son of God , Glory be to His name forever!
Under the above conditions, I surely would have been lost and found several times. I quote J. B. Stoney here," Everything in our spiritual journey depends on the truth you have received. No on can know the liberty wherewith Christ has made him free, who does not know first that the blessed God has removed in the Cross, to the most extent of His heart, and to His endless Glory, us who were under judgment, so that He can receive the believer in the acceptance of the Beloved [in Christ]".
"For I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to Keep that which I have committed [my faith in Him] against that day[judgement]' 2 Tim 1:12 To the extent that your assurance of salvation wavers your Christian experience will be crippled. Let me interject what I believe would be at the root of any thought of loss by a believer of his salvation; A lack of spiritual understanding in identification/position. For as I have found in my new understanding, and deep contemplation, of the word we are bound up in Jesus Christ before the father and He ,Christ, represents us in His Death and Resurrection in the economy and reckoning of God in Heaven. In short we in our spirits are found only in Him, by the Father. We all know, I hope, that there is nothing in our selves that deserve salvation and the Bible teaches clearly it is by the free gift of Grace we are saved. So how could we who live to this day in our Adam nature lose something that by our own efforts could never have received?
We have by faith been born into a spiritual family in Heaven and thereby occupy a position as a son /daughter, of God. Yes our condition might change, sin, sorrow weak faith, but our father cannot! We all know, as mentioned in my last blog the loss of glow of our founding experience some even to a place of disregard for their new faith, then only to be driven back by the indwelling Holy Spirit to a place of renewal. My friends we would be the saddest of all of Gods creatures if we ever thought in any way God would desert or cast aside a true believer. It is not how you feel, or what you do, It is who you are." A Child of the living God'.
I will leave you with the words of Paul " What shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation ,or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? For I am persuaded that neither death , nor life nor angles, nor principalities, nor powers, or things present , nor things past, nor things to come nor height ,nor depth, nor any other creation, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is found in Christ Jesus, The Lord!!!! Any man that could read this and who believes in Gods Word could never think that a Christian could ever suffer loss of salvation. And if one thinks this my heart goes out to you in your profound misunderstanding of His word.
Thanks for staying with me, this one runs deep with emotion. There is much for us to learn to see our life in Christ. Next we will look at what was done on the Cross ,which is the door that leads to understanding of identification/position in Him. We will meet you on the road soon.
